Morris Allen Barnes Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, to Morris and Brenda Barnes. Pastor Barnes is a first generation Seventh-day Adventist. Before Pastor Barnes accepted the call to ministry, he was in the entertainment industry. He appeared on a couple of television shows, commercials, theatrical plays, and print work for Adidas. He appeared in Public Service Announcement commercials. He made a guest appearance on the Moesha show with hopes of being a regular on the show. But the hand of God moved and block that plan because God had something better for him.
Morris also had his own business in the telecommunication industry; a customer acquisition company traveling and speaking in hotels to people from all walks of life, teaching them how to build businesses and save money with services, consumers already have. He was surrounded with young men not even the age of thirty, making more money in one month than most people make in a whole year. But the hand of God moved and block that plan because God had something better for him.
Pr.Morris Barness will answer these questions and more….
While still in the wilderness, trying to find his true purpose in life, he was on the verge of starting his own clothing line when his old friend called. “Morris, I’m going to Oakwood College to take up the ministry and I believe God has called you to the ministry as well.” Morris looked at the phone and said, “Are you crazy? How are you going to call and try to interrupt my life by saying, you want me to go to Oakwood College AND (EMPHASIS) say an application is on the way.” At the end of their dialogue Morris told Alex that if his clothing line doesn’t work out he would consider going to Oakwood College. Alex responded with “I will pray things don’t work out for you.” Well, after traveling back from the Magic Show Clothing Line at the Las Vegas, Convention Center, things took a turn for the worst, and to make the long story short through hard experiences of life such as a victim of identity theft, multiple car accidents, and etc. Through these experiences Morris finally gave in to the Spirit of God, and left Los Angeles, California.
His long term goal is to work for the Federal Prison System in sharing his ministry to those in need. His favorite book is Revelation. One of his favorite character is Enoch, and one of his passages is found in Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” His greatest desire is to see Jesus in peace and to see as many as possible make it to the Kingdom of Heaven.
So, are you coming?
